PizzaCut is a concept demo by KERNEL | STUDIO — a takeaway ordering site for a sourdough pizzeria in Norrköping. It shows what an independent pizzeria gets when it owns its own ordering flow instead of renting one from a delivery aggregator: a category-filtered menu, a build-your-own pizza configurator with live pricing, a slide-in cart, a validated checkout with pickup-time selection, a Stripe-style card form, and live order tracking. Bilingual Swedish/English, dark industrial identity, fully static and mobile-first. Payments and orders are simulated — there is no backend.

The challenge

Local pizzerias hand a big cut of every order, and the customer relationship, to delivery aggregators like Wolt, Bolt and Foodora. The brief was to show an independent pizzeria what it looks like to own its own direct-ordering site instead.

Our solution

PizzaCut is a self-owned takeaway ordering site: browse the menu, build a pizza, fill the cart, check out and track the order, all under the pizzeria's own brand. No aggregator commission and no middleman. Built as a concept demo, so payments and orders are simulated rather than processed against a real backend.

Build-your-own pizza configurator (base + 26 options) with live price recalculation

Category-filtered menu — 23 items across Klassiker, Signatur, Tillbehör and Öl & dryck

Slide-in cart drawer with upsell and quantity controls

Validated checkout with pickup-time selection

Stripe-style card form with Luhn validation (simulated — no real processing)

Live order tracking: Mottagen → I ugnen → Redo att hämtas

Bilingual SV/EN (Swedish default), fully static and accessible (skip-link, reduced-motion, aria)
